Hi there!

Today I'm here to make some point, that may or may not amuse you. I'm here to put forward some ideas, that you may or may not approve of. I'm here to propose something that may or may not influence you in any way.
The topic today is writing. Be it a novel, an article, a comic book, hell even an essay in school, writing (and reading for that matter) is an integral part of our lives. The text can convey so much - not only facts and opinions, but feelings, hopes, dreams. It can make or break a persons’ day. It may cheer him up or depress him. Written text holds power. It can change people. And it does.
But, hey, I'm taking myself a bit too seriously here. Don't get me wrong. I believe in every word I wrote in the last paragraph. Trust me, I do. But more often than not people wish to amuse themselves, without too deep of a thought. And I respect that. After all I often prefer such texts myself.
You see I trust people. I trust in their talents and tastes. I trust in their good sense. I don't know why, but I still do. Despite the recent, let's call them "trends", in writing of novels, the general "meh" feeling in comic books and so forth and so forward in such manner. Because, to be honest, a lot of the things that come out nowadays are, well, bad.
When I was younger I used to think that the texts that went into print were bond to be good. No, not good. Great. I mean, people read them, right? And the story and presentation have to be good, right? You can't just submit anything and get a publishing deal. Right? Well, I guess I was wrong. So very, very wrong.
I see talentless hacks getting published from otherwise big publishing houses. I see it, and I weep. I weep, because I know there are people, who have true talent. People who have a story to tell, people who should be given a chance, but are not. People who can write worth a damn. And still the people are passed over. Why? I don't know. And if that's the right way to do things, well I really don't want to know.
I know I sound harsh. And I am, in a way. But publishers need to stop doing things how they used to. They should start actually respecting the people paying them. They need to actively look for talent, not expect it to come to them. And that's basically what I want to do. No, what I'm going to do.
In the beginning of this wall of text I said I'm going to put forward an idea. Honestly I don't think it's something new or overly original. It's just something I think is high time to become a reality. I am, of course, talking about a publishing house of sorts. One structured to work on the internet, one made so that talented people can have the opportunity to fulfill their potential with regards to only their skills. One that will allow a lot more people to actually earn from what they put forward, and do it easily. In six months time it will go live. And I hope I will see you there.

P.S. Expect regular updates and at least tree contests in the span of those six months, with prices and such. Stay tuned.
